Investor Spotlight: Building the Future Together with Muskegon Community College

MCC was founded in 1926 to provide affordable and quality education for Muskegon County. By the 1950s, it had grown to have four buildings in downtown Muskegon. In 1966, MCC moved to its main campus on Quaterline Road, overlooking Four Mile Creek. After a 2013 capital millage was approved by Muskegon County voters, MCC modernized its facilities, including a new Life Science building, a renovated Art and Music building, a new Health & Wellness Center building, and opened an applied technology campus, the Sturrus Technology Center in downtown Muskegon.
MCC serves 5,500 students each year. About 600 students graduate annually ready to enter their fields or transfer on. This includes 60 nursing students a year who become registered nurses. MCC doesn’t operate in an academic silo; their programs are intentionally integrated into Muskegon’s business community. Through effective workforce development initiatives, MCC acts as a direct pipeline supplying skilled talent to local industries.

- The Sturrus Technology Center: Located in downtown Muskegon, this facility is a hub for applied technology, providing hands-on training in high-demand fields like advanced manufacturing, welding, automation, and electronics.
- Customized Corporate Training: MCC works directly with local employers to design rapid, customized training programs that upskill current workforces to match evolving technological needs.
