Muskegon Heights, MI – The application window for the Downtown Muskegon Heights Façade Improvement Grant is officially open. This grant program plays a key role in the extensive revitalization efforts underway in downtown Muskegon Heights by enhancing the look and feel of its Central Business District (CBD).
Focused on properties located within the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) boundaries, specifically the CBD surrounding Broadway Avenue and Peck Street (see map below), the program offers funding to eligible commercial property owners for exterior building improvements. Eligible projects include upgrades such as painting, signage, lighting, doors and windows, and other façade enhancements.
Grants up to $1,000 require no match, while awards over $1,000 require a 20% applicant match. To qualify for reimbursement, all applications must be fully completed, and projects must receive grant committee approval before any work begins.
